Wise Owl Furniture Painting Starter Kit

Start a furniture painting project with a coordinated Wise Owl kit. Choose one quart (32 oz) of Chalk Synthesis Paint in your preferred color; the other components are fixed.

• One quart (32 oz) Wise Owl Chalk Synthesis Paint in your selected color
• One quart (32 oz) Wise Owl Water-Based Varnish in Satin
• One quart Wise Owl GreenEZ Finishing Cleaner
• One Wise Owl Bad Ace Brush Soap, Unscented
• One Cling On S50 short-handle flat paint brush

Prepare your surface and follow each product’s application directions. Colors may appear different on screens; refer to the individual paint listing or test a sample if exact color is important.

How the kit works

The cleaner prepares your furniture, Chalk Synthesis Paint supplies the color, and Satin Varnish provides the protective finish. The Cling On S50 is a short-handled flat brush for applying the water-based products, while the brush soap helps with cleanup.

Project steps

1. Clean the furniture with the included GreenEZ Finishing Cleaner according to its label. Rinse away all cleaner and let the piece dry.
2. Remove loose finish, scuff sand slick areas, and remove dust. If the surface needs stain blocking or additional adhesion, use Wise Owl Stain Eliminating Primer before painting. Primer is not included in this kit.
3. Stir the Chalk Synthesis Paint thoroughly. Apply even coats with the Cling On brush, allowing drying between coats. A slightly damp brush can help reduce dragging with this paint.
4. Wait at least 24 hours after painting before applying the Satin Varnish. Apply thin coats without overbrushing and allow about 4 hours between Varnish coats.
5. Clean the brush using warm water and Bad Ace Brush Soap: lather, massage through the bristles, rinse well, and allow it to dry.

The quart of Chalk Synthesis Paint covers approximately 160 square feet; surface condition and the number of coats affect actual coverage. Allow approximately 30 days for full cure and protect the finish from water and heavy wear until cured.
