Vascular Compression Alliance

Turning experience into advocacy.

The Vascular Compression Alliance Foundation — education, advocacy, research, and collaboration.

The Vascular Compression Alliance Foundation is a nonprofit dedicated to improving understanding, diagnosis, treatment, and outcomes for people affected by vascular compression syndromes. Its work centers on education, patient and family advocacy, and collaboration that can help advance research and awareness.

The heart behind this work is personal. Our family has spent years trying to find answers for Sophia, navigating specialized care, and learning how difficult it can be to feel heard when a condition is uncommon or complex. We know there are other families walking that same road.

The Foundation's vision is a future where these conditions are recognized earlier, people can access reliable information, and no patient or family has to navigate the experience alone. Visit the official Vascular Compression Alliance Foundation website to explore its mission, educational resources, and patient registry.

Sophia’s Shield is an advocacy program within the Foundation. It aims to support individuals managing vascular compression syndromes by raising patient voices, encouraging respectful care, and helping people navigate difficult medical experiences with greater clarity and confidence.

The purpose is not to replace medical advice. It is to help people feel seen and supported while they work with their care teams. Learn more about Sophia’s Shield and its advocacy mission.

Our family’s experience with Sophia inspired our commitment to this work. Read Sophia’s story to learn more about the family behind the mission.
