GreenEZ Cleaning & Stripping Products

GreenEZ offers two different products for furniture refinishing. Select the formula you need from the options: Strip & Clean Furniture Stripper (half gallon) removes old coatings, while Finishing Cleaner (quart) removes residue and prepares the surface for its new finish. For a full stripping project, use the stripper first and the cleaner afterward.

Strip & Clean Furniture Stripper — half gallon

This soy-based, semi-gelled stripper softens old paint, varnish, polyurethane, lacquer, and other finishes on suitable furniture surfaces so they can be scraped away. Its thicker consistency helps it stay on vertical areas.

1. Test a hidden area, remove hardware and loose finish, and work in a ventilated space. Wear nitrile or butyl gloves and safety glasses.
2. Shake or stir the product, then brush or roll on a generous, even layer about 1/8 inch thick. Do not dilute.
3. Allow the coating to soften before scraping. A light coating may take about an hour; multiple or tougher layers can take several hours or overnight. Keep the product from drying out during a long dwell, and follow the container directions for your surface.
4. Scrape away the softened finish. Repeat on stubborn areas, then remove remaining film with GreenEZ Finishing Cleaner and a clean water wipe. Let the surface dry completely before refinishing.

Finishing Cleaner — quart

This concentrated cleaner removes the film left after stripping. It can also help remove grease and grime before painting and, at full strength with gentle scrubbing, lift light stain or thin varnish. It is a cleanup and prep product, not a substitute for the furniture stripper on heavy coatings.

1. For normal post-strip residue, dilute equal parts cleaner and clean water. Use full strength for heavier residue or light stain removal. Test first, especially on delicate wood or veneer.
2. Apply with a cloth or sponge, working with the wood grain, or spray generously. Allow about 1–3 minutes for normal residue; for light stain or varnish, use full strength and allow about 5–15 minutes, following the product label.
3. Wipe or gently scrub away residue, then rinse with clean water. Repeat if a clean rag still picks up finish or color.
4. Let the surface dry completely before applying paint, stain, or sealer. Wear gloves and eye protection while using the cleaner.

Shipping note for the Finishing Cleaner quart: This item cannot ship alone under the supplier’s restriction. Order it with another regular, non-sample product; a second cleaner does not satisfy that requirement.
