Wise Owl Glaze

Add depth, shading, and an aged effect to painted furniture and decor with Wise Owl's water-based decorative Glaze. Choose Black or Black Walnut from the Color dropdown. Wipe it back to control how much color remains in carved details, mouldings, and recessed areas.

How to apply

1. Start with dry paint. Over Chalk Synthesis Paint, a dried coat of Wise Owl Varnish first provides more working time and easier wipe-back.
2. Stir and apply glaze to a manageable section, working it into details.
3. Wipe away excess with a lint-free cloth, leaving more where you want shading.
4. Let the glaze dry and protect it with a compatible Wise Owl clear finish, following its directions.

Over One Hour Enamel, glaze can be applied directly without an initial Varnish coat; protect the dried glaze with Varnish or One Hour Enamel Clear. Practice on a sample to plan the effect.
