Wise Owl Stain Eliminating Primer

Prepare furniture, cabinets, and suitable surfaces for paint with Wise Owl Stain Eliminating Primer. It helps paint adhere and reduces stain or tannin bleed-through, particularly on woods such as cherry, mahogany, and red oak. Choose a primer color and a quart (32 oz) or gallon (128 oz).

Choosing a shade

White suits light paint; Gray, Dark Gray, and Coffee Bean support darker finishes. Clear is useful when distressing to reveal the wood beneath.

How to apply

1. Remove grease, wax, grime, and loose finish. Rinse away cleaner, dry, scuff sand slick surfaces, and remove dust.
2. Stir well. Apply two coats by brush, roller, or sprayer, allowing 4–6 hours after each coat to block stains. Tannin-heavy wood may need a third coat.
3. Before One Hour Enamel, allow at least 6 hours or overnight after the final primer coat. If spraying requires thinning, use no more than 10% water.

Approximate coverage is 160 square feet per quart, depending on the surface and number of coats. Primer prepares the surface for paint and does not replace a finishing topcoat.
